Aston Villa saw two members of their squad named in the 2017-18 Team of the Year, which was announced earlier this week.

Captain John Terry and winger Albert Adomah both made the cut, alongside City midfielder James Maddison.

Terry has helped his side keep 13 clean sheets in the 30 league appearances he has made so far this term, having joined from Chelsea on a free transfer last summer.

Meanwhile, Adomah has scored 15 times in all competitions, including a superb run of 10 goals in a dozen outings between September and November.

Frontman Jonathan Kodjia has missed the majority of the campaign through injury, but has made substitute appearances in Villa's last two games.

In terms of assists, former Canary Robert Snodgrass leads the way with an impressive 14 goals created for his teammates - down in no small part to his set-piece prowess.

Aston Villa recovered from a minor wobble by recording their first win in four games with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Reading on Tuesday night.

Prior to that they had been held to a goalless draw at Hull, following on from defeats against Bolton Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers.

That run of results looks to have ended Villa's hopes of automatic promotion, which appeared to be possible when they thumped leaders Wolves earlier in the month.

A 4-1 triumph at Villa Park looked to have left them well-placed for a crack at the top two, but going into this weekend's fixtures they sit seven points behind Cardiff City.

Previous Meeting
A hat-trick from Conor Hourihane proved decisive as Aston Villa picked up a 4-2 win in the reverse encounter back in August.

The midfielder opened the scoring midway through the first half, before Andre Green made it 2-0 with the interval looming.

Josh Murphy pulled a goal back with a smart finish on the hour-mark, only for Hourihane's deflected strike from distance to reassert Villa's control.

Substitute Nelson Oliveira struck with 11 minutes remaining to give City hope, but Hourihane completed his treble late on by firing into the net.
